Dr. Quiteya D. Walker, President Elect

Dr. Quiteya Walker is a native of Charleston, SC. She graduated from South Carolina State University with both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Criminal Justice and Rehabilitation Counseling, respectively. She received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She received her Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from The University of Iowa. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a National Certified Counselor.

Dr. Walker’s work experience includes her work as a post-secondary counselor and disability support service case manager at Kirkwood Community College in Iowa City, Iowa. She also worked as the Director of Disability Support Services at Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Mississippi. She also worked at ASPIRE Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities as a clinical mental health counselor, where she provided outpatient treatment to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Most recently, she worked as an assistant professor in counseling at Albany State University. Currently, Dr. Walker is an Associate Professor in Rehabilitation Counseling at Winston-Salem State University.

Dr. Walker holds membership in several organizations to include; American Counseling Association, American Rehabilitation Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota International Honor Society, National Alliance of Mental Illness-Georgia, just to name a few. Dr. Walker is a Past President (2015-2016) for the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association.
